Erez Aiger
Messianic Minister
From Israel to Oregon to Florida—A Path of Spiritual Growth and Community Impact highlight Erez life. Born in Tz’fat, Israel, in 1975. He spent his early childhood in Arad, a city near the Dead Sea, before his family relocated to Portland, Oregon, in 1982. At 21 years of age, on May 14, 1997, Erez experienced a profound and supernatural encounter with Yeshua, leading to his rebirth in the Ruach ha’Kodesh. This pivotal moment marked the realization of a calling spoken over him as a child and set him on a lifelong journey of spiritual growth.
Erez's formal ministry began in 1999, when he became the assistant rabbi at Kehilat Ari Yehuda, an MJAA Messianic Jewish synagogue in Portland, Oregon. In 2005, Erez and his family founded Congregation Sh’ma Yisra’el in the Portland area, where they led a vibrant and engaged community for 13 years. From 2018 to 2025 the family has hosted an in-home fellowship dedicated to worship, prayer, and study.
Erez enjoys hiking, reading, and spending quality time with his beloved dogs, Tater and Tilly. Family is central to his life. He and his spouse Leah have two wonderful children: their son, Yosef ("Yossi"), is 22 and currently attending the University of Hawaii; their daughter, Yonit, is 25 and preparing to marry a career soldier in the U.S. Army.
A passionate student and teacher of the Hebrew Scriptures, Erez is committed to helping others grow in wisdom and understanding. He is dedicated to building up the Body through knowledge and love for people. Notably, Erez is a descendant of the renowned eighteenth- and nineteenth-century sage Rav Akiva Eiger, his fifth generation great-grandfather.
In the secular arena, Erez has devoted his adult life to supply chain operations. Over the past 15 years, his focus has been on facility operations management, including roles in medical devices, specialty foods, and facility solutions. We are delighted that Ezer is our new Rabbi In Training.
